  Gentle like a dove, her eyes carried off naughtiness when she smiled with paan-reddened lips. Walking on hot coal amidst patriarchal egos, she ensured our tummies were always full. She was the back-up plan for our carelessness. She knew people inside out and put across their stories in a funny way. No one knew her stories though. We shared a bedroom. I rolled a lot and pushed her to the floor in my sleep. She placed pillows to prevent me fall at the edge of the bed and slept on a mat. She cried at night when she thought I was sleeping.
